First Exhall Crop

Had a nice relaxing time with Kelly from the Coventry crop, and met a lot of new faces at this first crop in Exhall. Nice warm venue on a really dull, cold foggy day.

Used lovely Crate papers, and played with some great fonts on a different die cutter to my own, especially pleased with the cadillac LO, i've been hoarding this photo for ages, and as it is small was struggling to make a 12x12 page with it, these papers were perfect for the vintage photo.

The second LO looks better IRL. We used glimmer mist sprays, they look so shiny on the paper, again it was good to play with some stash i don't have at home, and get a LO done for Katies birthday photo. Some of the flowers were stamped onto acetate, i hadn't tried this before either, my only regret is that there isn't enough space for journalling for my taste!!

Journal your Christmas update..

I received a message from Shimelle today about this, am getting really excited now! So glad my flu is nearly gone, wouldn't have wanted to get behind with it!
If i am well enough to go to the crop tomorrow i might take along some bits and pieces to get started, i think i'll stamp some journalling blocks ready to go, and maybe cut up some of my papers too.
If you are interested then find details on this page

FLU!

Sorry i've not updated of late, but lost my whole weekend and the past 2 days to flu, not just a heavy cold but the full achy body, feel like i've done 10 rounds with Mike Tyson, can't lift my head off the pillow flu.

Got up for the first time today, hope to be back at work by Thursday, and crafting again at the weekend!

I knew i should have shaved before allowing this photo to be taken!!!

Autumn Challenge

Very excited to post that my Autumn LO of Harry picking and baking apples has won this months LO on the Creativity Life blog.

Have a look here!

Really happy that my journalling caught the judges eye, as writing about the photos is so important to me!

Scrapping December...

I found myself preparing for this today by buying an 8x8 scrapbook in red. I decorated the cover using some Basic Grey Buttons (Hannahs idea) and a bit of dimensional paint. I did find myself looking at the calendar today though and wondering how i'll get it all done as December is going to be so busy! I suppose that will mean that there is plenty to put into it!!!
Got much of my pressie wrapping done last weekend, and have made most of the cards i'm going to, so now i can get back to scrapping again, which seem to have abandoned a little recently.

Dotee's name

As she is to go on the Christmas tree, and is definately a girl, Holly is the name for our Dotee!

Dotee day!!

I received a gorgeous little hand made doll called a dotee from one of my Do crafts friends today, i had seen pictures of them posted on the site in the past, but really had no idea how CUTE they are, and how much lovely work goes into one. As mine is made with nice festive colours it will go on the tree as it goes up, and i have an idea for one of the LOs in my Scrap your Christmas book, a page devoted to my little dotee seems called for!!!!

So thanks Sue for my lovely gift, and it will remind me of you every year when i put up my Christmas tree!!!

Found!

Well, i found my memory stick (phew!) and was given a nice new laptop at work, so have spent tonight playing on it (uploading all my files from the very old slow one!)
I have signed up to Shimelles course about scrapping Christmas, so am looking forward to that starting in December. Have a nice crafty week planned, with a crop on Thursday, and a demo on Saturday. I have decided not to go to the NEC this year as it is so expensive, parking fees are extortionate, and the last couple of times i have visited there the choice for scrapbookers was very limited.
On a course tomorrow, so should have a less stressful day with luck!!!

Not so bad after all...

Well, last week went well, i seemed to make a bit of progress with the behaviour of most of my groups, and (apart from losing my memory stick) i left school feeling quite happy! Finished most of my Christmas shopping, and even did some wrapping today, i prefer to get it out of the way where i can! This mean that when december hits I can start Shimelles scrapbook that i signed up for a while back, and not have too many other things to do!!!
So not much crafting this weekend. I made a card for my Mum, for a new baby girl, which made a change. Love the doodle bug sticky things you can attach glitter and flock to that arrived this week. I NEED some flock now i think!

Used Amy Butler papers, and a freebie bit of stash i received from SI (i think) that i knew would come in handy one day!!

Back to school :(

Well, i'm back to work tomorrow, so i don't suppose i will update as often now until Christmas. I had fun with Katie today playing with flocking powders making even more Christmas cards today, nad yester day completed a calendar for my MIL. It was great to look back at lots of the photos i have taken over the past 2 years since i had my DSLR, and feel a bit proud about some of them!

The only thing i need to do more of in the next year or so is to make sure i am occasionally in front of the lens, not always behind it!!

Decisions, decisions....

This holiday I was supposed to be filling in a hideous application form that would gain me a promotion at work (for AST status). The form is PAGES long and has to be accompanied by a portfolio of evidence... urgh!

So it's the last Saturday of half term, and i still have not started it :) My excuse is that i have left the folder of info at work (true) to help me to complete it, so instead i have just been crafting all week! Today i have decided to start to make pressies for parents, these photos form part of the gift... can you guess what it is yet!
