End of an Era...

Another victim of the recession is the first Scrapbook Magazine i ever bought, Scrapbook Inspirations. Sadly, next month is to be the last month that this UK magazine produced in the UK will be published. I'm not saying that I've been inspired every month by the mag, but it is the best UK mag out there, and I'm sad to see it go. I think publishers feel that the way forward with niche mags like this is to publish online, but i can't take my laptop into the bath with me....

Here is a LO i made at the crop last week, using photos taken of Harry on his first day back at school this year. It's a poignant page for me, as he is in the last year of Primary school, and the last of my babies to wear the royal blue uniform.

The page looks clearer in real life, I took a curly frame shape i had made for a previous page, stuck it temporarily behind a piece of Black magic Core'dinations cardstock, and sanded, the shape of the frame pops out. I did the same with clock shaped masks (Tim Holtz), and oversprayed lightly with Cosmic Shimmer spray. I stitched around the frame (at a crop i have time to fiddle about with bits like this, and still chat!) and the title is stamped. I added a few buttons as i can never leave a page too bare!

My appointment with the supply agency in Birmingham went well today, just have to wait to find out if i have any bookings.

Ooooh, and i've just noticed that i've had 10,000 hits on my blog :)

I didn't know Scrapbook Inspirations was folding and I have a subscription to the magazine!
The layout is a great reminder of your son's last year at Primary School. A very clever idea to get the background that way - it's something I would never have thought of. I love the frame shape and the stitching which really brings it out.
Congrats on 10,000 hits! Also good luck with getting some work through the agency.

Snap! I too have a sub to this magazine and hadn't heard a word about it folding. I don't really like online mags - as you say Ann,you can't take your laptop into the bath!
Great LO of Harry - love all your special touches.
