Art Deco

I have always love the art deco style, so I was delighted when DoCrafts sent me a beautiful Art Deco kit in shades of black, silver and duck egg blue/green.
They made perfect papers for the pages about Hannah's 21st 20's themed birthday party last year, and thanks to Chris' friend who took the photos and gave me permission to use them for the Creativity magazine layouts.
I made 3 pages each including increasing levels of skill and therefore time. The simple page used a whole series of stickers as a border,

I like to add lots of an embellishment I like, rather than dot it about the page.

I made a butterfly border using a punch and negative space on the second page.

The most time consuming layout involved a die cut scene of London being used to represent an American skyline

(I removed iconic London buildings to fit the theme) and then layered as a stencil or in varied monochrome shades.

Interesting news from DoCrafts HQ, the Creativity magazine is moving to being published monthly (rather than 6 times a year) so I'm looking forward to playing with more lovely stash for them!

Love these LOs .. How creative! What a good idea to remove the iconic London Landmarks too.
