... this was an odd request.
A few months back I said to Kev (in an offhand way) that I would like a vintage typewriter. As I said, an odd request. However, scrappers out there might know where I'm coming from with this. On the odd occasion I want to type my journalling I think I would prefer to use a typewriter: more physical, more real, more me. Imagine my joy at receiving this surprise in the post last week, for no reason, just because !!
I do normally hand write my journalling as I want there to be a piece actually written by me on each page. Sometimes though, I just need to write too much to fit it all on by hand, so typing seems the only option. Using the computer is a little sterile, divorced from the real person writing it. But if I have to roll the paper into a typewriter and then actually press down on those keys then it just seems more real.
Not sure non-scrappers will get this at all, but I think they should be content with the idea that my vintage typewriter will look really cool on the shelf in the study :)

You lucky thing ... I'd love one ... for the scrapbooking!
P.S. Seeing the word "vintage" there makes me giggle ... because that's not exactly an old typewriter to me - I remember one just like it when I was a teenager! Which makes me pretty "vintage" too I guess x
Yes, I think it is a 1960s model, which must make me vintage too :)
I remember them too, but don't feel 'vintage' myself ;-)! Enjoy your new 'toy'!
