Apple Day

After a beautiful Indian summer (which has come to an abrupt end this week!) the autumn colour has been fabulous this year.

We visited eldest daughter at Castle Bromwich Hall garden's Apple Day at the weekend, lots of things to see and do along with many autumnal photo opps.  There were lots of varieties of produce on show: apples (obviously!)

including one variety called the Wyken pippin which has an historic link to Coventry.(See here for details)

There were Molly dancers (lady Morris style dancers)

Autumnal games

The door to a secret garden (the orchard really)

and some vegetables; big ones

small ones, some as big as your head!

A perfect day out to end the summer.
