Out and about

Sorry not to have blogged much recently, but the weather has been so unseasonably warm, with the kids still off school we have made the most of it and got OUT!!! It's so great to leave the computer, Gameboy and Wii behind, and get back to the simple pleasures in life!

On Monday we went to the local park with an impromptu picnic. My sister and her boys joined us, and great fun was had with one bike and a football!! La and i just lolled about on the picnic rug, catching up as she has been in Weymouth for the past few days. After 17 years Hannah almost mastered the art of riding a bike (her dyslexia affects her ability to balance) so she was very pleased with herself.

Yesterday we headed off to Hartshill in Nuneaton, a little gem of a place hidden away through the back streets of the town. I wanted to visit it as the woods are glorious this time of year, so with another picnic and John and Kathleen accompanying us we headed off. As we approached a large roundabout on our journey Kev went over the traffic lights, but John who was following behind was stopped by them. And so we lost him..... A few minutes later we received a phone call, they were way up ahead, so i asked Kathleen to get John to return to the roundabout where we lost them and we'd meet up in a lay-by.......A few more minutes passed and another phone call "Which way should we be heading on the M6; North or South?" Aaaaaaargh, they shouldn't have even got onto the motorway!!! Reunited at last we made it to the park for beautiful views over Leicestershire and Warwickshire, fragrant bluebell woods, a yummy picnic and great fun in the childrens playground.

So make hay while the sun is shining.... we are going out to the Cotswolds today.

Hi Ann

Looks like a fb day was had by all. So plesed to read about Hannah and the bike. Ross is 11½ and still can't ride a bike because of motor problems assoc. with autism. Loves his big trike though!!! Great photos by the way.
