This weeks challenge..

.. on UKScrappers was to make a LO using monochrome colours, a montage of photos, some stamping and journalling around the edge.

I hadn't done a challenge LO for ages, so decided to have a go at this one today. I used a series of photos I took of Harry a while ago playing with a yoyo, and some very old stash (Basic Grey Black Tie... one of the first paper packs I bought, and some DCWV cardstock). To make them look a little more up to date I used Tim Holtz masks, sequin waste, inks, cosmic shimmer mist and paint to make the backgrounds.

To add a bit more interest I cut some gears using a sizzix die, and the 'Too Cool' phrase. The title is stamped using white acrylic paint with an Autumn Leaves alphabet, the arrows come from this set too. The metal circles are WRMK gromlets.

Tomorrow is the last day of the holiday, as we didn't get 6 full weeks this year we do seem to be going back to work very early. Lots of jobs to do then, in preparation for the new terms onslaught!

Hope the new term goes well. I am relieved not to be going back. I love my 3 hrs of tutoring a week and I am now on the records to mark for AQA, OCR and IB. I've also got an interview coming up (October) for a more senior role at AQA (fingers crossed).
