Another wedding layout.

The venue for my friend's wedding back in January was absolutely lovely, a Victorian orangery within a Leicestershire hotel.

I took a good few photos of the venue, making this page with the same details as the other wedding ages, to tie all the designs together.

The background papers are Anna Griffin, as are the floral embellishments.
 

The diamond is die cut from rose gold card, along with the roses and the title. It will make a nice facing page for the cutting the cake page in my album.

Winter Wedding

Another layout about my friend's wedding back in January at a beautiful Victorian country house which is now a hotel.

To make the layout quite traditional I used Anna Griffin papers and a piece of a 12x12 die cut which was reminiscent of the window panes in the orangery where the marriage took place and the celebration afterwards.

I have had the architectural plan paper for ages, it was good to get it onto a layout; I have a piece left for another page too.

The title is cut from fun foam with the Xcut script dies in black so it stands out.  The die cut flowers are all by Anna Griffin, as is the journalling card and chalkboard sentiment.

I added the month with a Tim Holtz die cut in rose gold card, along with a few stitched tickets and tags by XCut and Lawn Fawn.

Cutting the Cake

A friend of mine married just after the New year this year; it was a lovely way to start the miserable month of January.

The wedding was a fabulous affair, the whole event took over a Leicestershire Hotel, the restored Victorian Kilworth House, As Kevin and I are in our fifties, it is many years since we have been to a wedding, especially of someone the same age as us. It was wonderful to see that glow of happiness surrounding not only the bride and groom, but everyone at the wedding.  It was truly a beautiful wedding.

I inevitably took lots of photos, and these were taken in the orangery where the ceremony, meal, speeches and dancing all took place.

I used some very old stash to make this layout, mostly by Anna Griffin which seemed to be ideal for a wedding layout. I recently ordered some rose gold cardstock from the Tonic  Craft Perfect selection.  I love this way of buying card, you can pick from a wide range of colours in the size (A4 or 12x12) and finish you want.

I think I will be buying some 12x12 backing card too.  I cut the title using X cut script dies, and the gold roses were cut using a free Tonic die I was sent by Hochanda.

I am looking forward to making more wedding pages from the rest of my photos of this beautiful venue.

Artist at Work

The second of my layouts using Paige Evan's papers about my friend exhibiting her artwork a couple of years ago.

She is a wonderful watercolourist, and did demonstrate her skill at one point during the afternoon.

The papers and embellishments match the two pages, they do look good opposite each other in my album. :)

A Fresh Start

My lovely teacher friend (now retired) married earlier this month, and although it wasn't on the first, I thought her wedding made a perfect theme for the idea of a fresh start.

As they love to travel I used some suitcases cut from Shimelle's Go Now Go papers and a real mix of various papers and embellishments.

Murder meal

A good friend of ours likes to hold murder mystery meals, and as it was her partner's birthday another one was planned for the weekend.
Set in the 1960s,I had been given the character of Mary-Jane Faithless, and Kev the carousing actor Oliver Steed.

 Looking at the costumes, Kev's is an old velvet suit we bought for a fancy dress party years ago, and (sadly) all the items for mine were hiding in my wardrobe. I do wear them (apart from the shirt) but not normally all together!

Everyone else joined in, with the birthday boy a version of Brian Sewell, and Susie as the super model  'Wiggy'.

The parties take far longer than they should for us to get through as we mess about so much, and only two of the eight worked out who the murderer was, but solving the crime is not really the point!

Another is planned for the summer. :)
