A record of some of the handmade items my daughter knitted as Christmas presents this year.

As she found it hard to find work after graduating, Katie decided to hand make many of her gifts as she had the time, and it would save her money.  I love this knitted bauble she made for me.

Knitty Gritty Volume 1

My daughter Katie continues with knitting the over 2000 swatches of varied knitting stitches and storing them into hand made books.  She finished the first volume of 36, but the book was groaning at the seams.  We dismantled it and I found some large book rings to flatten it.

I then helped to die cut the cover letters and I even found a little ball of yarn die to decorate the book.

A Handmade Gift

My knitting daughter made me a cute little gift when she was home from Uni over the Easter holidays.

I let her know I wanted a new pin-cushion, she make one in the shape of a cactus.  So cute!

Hooting Cafetiere.

Katie has really got into knitting since going to University and joining KnitSoc.

When she came home I asked her to knit me a cover to keep the coffee warm in our Cafetiere, after seeing the mug cosy she had knitted for herself.

Sunday the cover was completed with stag-horn cable knit (according to Katie; the expert) owls and embroidered beaks below the button eyes. I love it, and just need to try it out now.
