Titanic City

When we were in Liverpool, we visited the Titanic exhibition within the Maritime Museum.

I took lots of photos, so made a double layout using a set of papers by Anna Griffin, along with the embellishments from the kit.  I also used woodgrain papers by Papermania to make for a more plain background so the patterned papers stand out more.

The title is cut from gold mirri card using an XCut deco style die.

We found a trunk of dressing up clothes in the museum, it reminded us of when the children were small, they would have loved to rummage through them for a photo-opportunity.  Kev had to take their place instead in a very ill-fitting life jacket!

Part of the exhibition included lists of all the passengers and crew of those on the ship, organised by class.  All those who survived were recorded in one colour, those lost in blue.  We found a family of three Caldwells on the ship in second class, all three survived.

The tragic thing was the amount of blue (lost) in the lists of the third class and the crew.  I knew about these deaths prior to visiting the museum, but seeing all those names, ages, all in blue was heart breaking.
