My kids are all in their twenties, but still love an Easter egg hunt in the spring.
This year was no different!
Papers are by Dear Lizzy, title uses an ancient alphabet stencil by Tim Holtz, stitched around and coloured.

Easter cards
A traditional feel to my Easter cards this year with florals by Anna Griffin to decorate them.
I used her cardstock in pastels cut out with stitched rectangular dies.
The die cut Easter was cut from white heavyweight card and layered to give the appearance of chipboard.
Simon Says Stamp tiny sentiments finished the message along with some sequins.
The last card has a cross and sentiment stamped with an Anna Griffin spring stamp set.

Easter Bunnies
Hannah didn't want chocolate eggs for Easter this year as she has been trying really hard to lose weight, so she asked for egg cups instead. I found these very cute bunny cups in Debenhams and snapped a couple of pictures before I wrapped them to give her.
The background to this layout has been fully stamped in pastel colours using Altenew splatstyle stamps, I'm really happy how it turned out. The papers are an old set I had in my scraps drawer from earlier Easter layouts, I'm glad to have found it and made made good use of them.
I used Katie Skilton's unicorn dies for the rainbow, clouds and grass. The title uses a bargain pack of Thickers I bouht from Home Bargains and a stamped script word cut out.
The embellishments are almost all cut from the papers, I also managed to find some old resin flowers and the washi tape is a spring style roll from Tiger.
I finished off the layout with Nuvo glaze drops.

Happy Easter
I used the method of over stamping onto pigment painted images to make my Easter cards this year.
Again, it's another very old set of stamps I picked up at a craft show.
The window can be cut so the shutters open and there a variety of scenes that can go behind this.
I liked the little rabbits on the scene for spring, ideal for an Easter card.

Happy Easter!
We are at home for Easter, but my Mum, dad and sister are away, so I made them cards for the day.
Again I have been using my Anna Griffin embossing folders with the mix and match sentiments.
The papers are from a floral set by Papermania, they go really well with the AG designs.
I used a set of decoupage flowers to decorate the front of the cards, and the little cross was cut using a very old Sizzlits die.
I do have another really plain cross, but despite searching though my stash I couldn't find it. Never mind, the celtic design seemed to go quite well instead.
Maybe I will find the one I wanted by next Easter!
Have a good Easter holiday everyone!

Easter bags
I spent Sunday at the NEC with Hannah looking at the spring craft shows and taking part in a few classes. We attended a Tonic class where we both made really cute little Kensington handbags using Tonic dies.
I was pleased that the background to mine was in orange as my lounge is retro-decorated in cream and orange wallpapers, so the little bag looked perfect on the windowsill.
Earlier in the day, we signed up for a \Fiskars class, and used punches and stamps to make another little bag, this time with an Easter theme.
Although the class was identical, we both ended up with slight differences to our bags. I'm really pleased with mine, and it goes well with the other Easter decorations I have.

Another Easter page.
A second UKScrappers challenge page, only one more set of Easter photos to scrapbook now.
The papers are Teresa Collins Memorabilia with lots of sequins, flowers, brads and cut out pieces from the papers and an inked sprayed background.
I love the action photos of the kids running about the garden like mad!

Easter photos page.
We have a big anniversary coming up next week, as we will be busy I got my Easter photos scrapbooked before getting back to work.
I used two challenges from UKScrappers to get the pages finished quickly. The house challenge was all about spring, so perfect for the egg hunt pictures.
These photos are the before and after of the egg hunt; Harry won but he did share his additional eggs with the girls (under duress!)

Easter Fun
It doesn't matter that the children are mostly grown up now, they still insist on an egg hunt at Easter every year. Other traditions include baking nest cakes..
and receiving eggs from Thorntons, preferably with their names upon them. I made the error of buying Hannah an egg that was sealed, so couldn't be opened in the shop for the addition of her name. Suffice to say, she was most upset this morning. Luckily, Grandma Joan arrived with named eggs for all three, phew!
All 4 grandparents joined us for a roast lamb dinner, mucked in with making the puddings and quiche (well, Grandmas anyway!) and played games of cards.
After lunch, we had the egg hunt. As it has been lovely and warm today, we used the garden.. making me realise we need to get out there next week before it all starts to really grow like mad!
Harry won, but he did share extra eggs (under duress!) with the girls.

I made cards for Easter using Anna Griffin embossing folders, and flowers; some from the Papermania floral set, others AG decoupaged flowers.
I hope the recipients enjoy them. Happy Easter all.

A Few Cards
There were a few cards made in April for various celebrations.
Firstly my anniversary on the 16th, 23 years this year.
I had a go with Boofle stamps and used a kiss method to give them a knitted coat. Not my usual thing, but Kev liked it !
My Easter cards this year were a combination of Anna Griffin papers and flowers
with egg shapes downloaded from the DoCrafts Creativity club.
Finally, a friend of mine found she was expecting a surprise baby just after Christmas last year. Even more of a shock was the very early arrival of her little girl, so I made her a card using a Cuttlebug embossing folder, and cutting the sentiment on my eClips and Sizzix. She is making steady progress, and was 2 weeks old yesterday, so we are all hoping and praying for the best.
I don't make many cards, but I think a personal card at a time like this shows how much we are all thinking of the family.

It's that Friday (yay) feeling!
With the weekend ahead, only a bit of work to do, and I'm sure I can squeeze in a bit of scrapbooking too.
Having posted a page showing Katie this Easter, I think I should also post last years photo too :)
Papers are by Stampin' Up, and I used a Sakura Souffle pen to add a bit of colour.
I was planning on gardening this weekend, but with the forecast mini-monsoon I may have to put it on hold ;)

Happy Easter all, and don't eat too much chocolate :) (if only I could follow my own advice!)

Happy Easter
I am preparing a tutorial to share with you next week, but as it's a lot of work I thought I would post a quickie with the Easter cards I made this year. This card is one I sent to my in-laws in Northern Ireland, no ribbons, so it is flat enough to fit in the post!! The stamp is a new one from a lovely dandelion set (I think they are Inkadinkado, but I wouldn't swear to it!!), images are both heat embossed.... not done this for a while, with a few little gems added. I stamped a lighter version of the image onto the background card too.The second
cards are ones I delivered by hand, so lumpiness wasn't an issue!! Glittered papers are by Amy Butler, cross cut out using a Sizzlits die, and the sentiment cut using Sizzix Eclips, buttons are by Papermania, as is the knotted ribbon.

Bizarrely we plan to have a Passover style meal by cooking lamb on the barbecue and eating it with flatbreads and herbs... with such hot weather for Easter we thought we would make the most of it.

Weekend crafting
As Kev was out yesterday on a course in Birmingham (part of his maths specialist teacher training ) I had a nice time scrapbooking in the morning, and playing with Decopatch in the afternoon.
We had to
use a technique taught by a friend, use fabric or stitch and use purple. Well, I combined the first two parts as Michelle from the Nuneaton crop showed me how to stitch a neat title on a page using a computer printed image, I changed the method slightly to use with stamps, and the result is a cute (and cheap!) title. The word Easter is cut using the Sizzix Eclips, as is the photo mat. The purple papers were fro
m Stampeezee, picked up in the sale after Christmas, and in need of being used before I forgot I had them!!!
Here's the page I made for this weeks challenge on UKS.

All in all a good page for using up stash in danger of languishing in my craft tote.
A busy week lies ahead, visitors from Warwick Uni, swimming with the kids, Ash Wednesday mass and a trip to a Hindu temple await. One thing you can't say about teaching is that it's boring!!!

Happy Easter
A quick post today, just an upload of some of the cards I made for close family at Easter.

It's funny that we send cards to all and sundry at Christmas, but at Easter, the biggest feast of the churches year we send very few.
The patterned papers are left overs from a magazine, but perfect I thought for an Easter card. I used my Cuttlebug folder, Doodlebug alphabet stamps, some bits of ribbon and the bird is stamped and paper pieced (Unity).
Have a wonderful day, whatever you are doing.
