Egg Hunt

My kids are all in their twenties, but still love an Easter egg hunt in the spring.

This year was no different!
Papers are by Dear Lizzy, title uses an ancient alphabet stencil by Tim Holtz, stitched around and coloured.

Engaged.

My eldest daughter gets married in October, here is a page of her with her fiance earlier this year.

A quick layout with a central design, papers are by Shimelle ( I think, it's been so long since I made the page).

Title is hand cut from papers.

Paige Evans scraplift.

I watched a YouTube video by Paige Evans using her new collection 'Horizon.

The papers with a rainbow sunray design is one of my favourites; I didn't want to cover much of the paper and was puzzled about how to do the paper justice.

Of course Paige had the wonderful idea to cut the segments and embroidered them, so I just scaplifted it.

In her style I added sequins tone on tone to the page as I wanted the rest of the layout to stand out.  Of course, the stitching took for ever, good job I was off school for the Easter holidays when I made the page!

Central Park

I made a pocket on this pa
ge behind the photos to include the map of the park that Hannah and Chris used.

The papers are mainly Maggie Holmes Carousel with an old Kaisercraft backing paper.

I cut the title using the Sizzix Deco XL die from green fun foam with paper from the pad glued on top.
I had the 12x12 chipboard sheet, along with a pack of die cut picked up in the sale, so (for once) I didn't have to fussy cut my embellishments.

Just Before...

A photo taken at the top of the Rockefeller Center of Hannah and Chris.

It was taken just before he proposed,  so I think that's why he's looking a little nervous!

The backing paper is very old, I thought is was ideal as it was an 'answer sheet'.

I made the title from a PL card, part brush script, part Thickers.

More NYC pages

I spent Mother's Day last month pleasing myself...scrapbooking!

I spent time catching up with Hannah's scrapbook completing some of the photos she took in New York last summer.

This page is about the 9/11 Memorial Museum that they visited at the end of their visit.

As Hannah was at home on Mother's Day, she told me all about it so I could journal accurately.

Tough

The women of Sheffield supported the war effort in heavy industry during both world wars.

It must have been incredibly tough for them making munitions using local steel.

I loved this monochrome backing paper and used the end of the kit I made in March.

The title and stamps come from a Heidi Swapp storytelling kit (Tough).

The Maxwells.

Whilst up in Sheffield, we took the chance to take quite a few family photos.

This one is made using a kit I put together to get me scrapping again.

The wood grain paper is by Docrafts, along with the yellow water colour stripes.

I added stickers from American Crafts sticker books, enamel dots, chipboard stars (Maggie Holmes Carousel) and Heidi Swapp stamps.

Party

A multi photo layout with the Maxwells out for Dad's 80th birthday.

Amy Tan papers again, quite a bit of stamping (Heidi Swapp) along with chipboard from one of her storytelling kits.

Title is a Thickers set, just getting to the end of these now.

PSV Cake.

Dad drove buses for almost all his working life, he got his PSV licence in London back in the 1960s.

We decided to have a cake for his 80th birthday made with the design of his driver's badge on the top.

More Amy Tan papers and a lovely ledger paper for the background.  A Heidi Swapp stamp with Catherine Pooler inks completed the embellishments.

The Ivy.

During February half term we took a day out to Birmingham on the hunt for wedding clothes.

We had breakfast in the Ivy, Hannah made the most of the photo opportunity outside the restaurant.

The papers are by Amy Tan, I also added Snarky word strips by Tim Holtz.

The title is die cut with a Sizzix XL die, I also cut and punched embellishments from the paper pad.

Empire State Building.

I've been busy scrapbooking the photos my daughter and her fiance took on their trip to New York last summer.

I used a Tim Holtz die to cut the word 'explore', the papers are from old stash, I also tucked their tickets behind the photos.

The title is die cut from glittered fun b foam in gunmetal that I picked up in Hobby craft.

Still lots more NYC pages to make.

Dispatch Rider

My grandad ( on my dad's side) was a dispatch rider during WW2.

On seeing this re-enacter at Upton Park dressed as he might have been, I needed to get a photo of him.

As Grandad worked on the buses as an inspector, I added bus tickets as embellishments.

Shelter

Here is Harry sitting in a recreation of a WW2 Anderson shelter.

The shelter was put up at The National Trust's Upton Park.  Again, I used my Clear the Scrap Desk kit to make the layout.

Plenty of stickers from an American Crafts sticker book, the punched border is made with an EK Success notepad punch.

A few black enamel dots finish the page.

Saxon Gold

In the Museum of Birmingham there is an exhibition of the Saxon hoard found at Sutton Hoo.

I used the kit I made for the Clear the Scrap Desk set. This is one of the final pages I made using up the scraps.

Just so pleased to have made five layouts with it and got those photos into my albums at last.

Even the title was made from Frankensteined letters, chopping into an 8 made the 's' I was short of.

Marshmallow Toasting

My nephews love the chimnea and toasting marshmallows on a cool summer's day is a great way to spend the afternoon.

The photos are old ones, so I'm glad to get them into my album.

For the title I used a mixed font, the first part is with Thickers, and I wrote the second part using brush script, something I have been practicing over the last month or so.

I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.

Don't Smile

I found these shots I took for our most recent passports so I decided to scrapbook them.

As I had been finding it hard to get motivated to scrap, I made up a kit after looking back at some of Shimelle's Clear the Scrap Desk' class from a couple of years ago.

The papers are from two Tim Holtz paper pads and an older set by Crate Paper (Close Knit).

I also punched out bottle tops and cut out embellishments from the paper pads. The title are from a set of One Two Canoe stickers.

The Empire State Building.

Last August, my eldest daughter got engaged whilst on a trip to New York.

These photos and tickets are from their visit to the most famous skyscraper.

The papers are from the Passport range, along with an older paper pad in the background.

I cut the title using a Sizzix XL die (Deco) and some pewter glitter foam I bought in Hobby craft.  Great for making titles.
I made a pocket behind the page to slide tickets into too.

The Orangery

My close friend from school days has a beautiful Victorian house up in the east midlands.

When she first bought it, one of the most outstanding features of the house was the original Orangery.

Although there was a fire in there, they did manage to save it, and following its restoration it is totally beautiful and deserving of its place in my scrapbook.

I used Trimcraft tropical papers, they seemed to go so well with the plant theme.
