Catching up on scrapbooking old photos, I found these two taken in October 2017 just before Halloween.
The shop at Attingham Hall had this spooky seat for selfies, so we took advantage of it.
I do like Halloween stash, the colours are lovely. Especially in the Graphic 45 papers I used here.
I think the stamped image is a pharmacy advert by Stampers Anonymous. I cut it up into pieces and layered around the photos.

Pumpkin Patch
Firstly, sorry about the quality of the photo of the layout today, it was dark when I took it and with it being dark it was tricky to get the camera to focus.
The photos were taken at Castle Bromwich Hall on their Apple Day, the pumpkins were still sitting in the patch so I decided to use Halloween style papers.
They are a mix of Graphic 45 patterned papers as I think G45 make the best range of spooky papers, lots of elements to cut out as embellishments (the pumpkins and stamps) and a rich palette of colours.
The title was cut from fun foam using the Tim Holtz script alphabet dies (tricky but worth the effort).

A sprinkling of purple sequins finished off the layout.

Halloween House
Last year, Hannah and Chris decorated a gingerbread house with lots of Halloween cake decorations...made for a perfect photo!
I used a Graphic 45 papers (I love their Halloween ranges).
The title is partly stickers, and the rest is stamped and cut out; a really old set by Autumn Leaves.
I finished it off with a journalling block and a vintage key.

Poison
When in Aberystwyth, we visited the local museum (in a beautiful old theatre) and saw many things of interest.
One of my favourites was the set of bottles and other item from an old pharmacy.. perfect for another layout using my Halloween stash.
The papers are by Graphic 45 and the background spider web is Tim Holtz. Stamps are also by Tim Holtz; I stamped onto patterned papers with Versafine black ink, and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
I cut lots of embellishemnts from the papers; a frame for one photo, bottles and books, and added glittery dots to look a little like bubbles from the potions.
The title was cut from funky foam using a Sizzix die. Still a couple more Halloween style pages to make this year.

Halloween pages
I took a few photos this year to use on Halloween pages, a good thing really as I had a large stash of various Graphic 45 and Tim Holtz papers that really needed using!
Lots of the embellishments were cut from the papers, and the tag is a chalk board one by DoCrafts.
My first page uses a variety of Graphic 45 papers from the last few years, Tim Holtz stamps,
The title is cut from orange funky foam using Sizzix Go Slim alphabet dies. More Halloween pages to come, along with pictures from our trip to Wales!

A Pretty Ghost
Just before Hannah left home to start her new job, she went out with a friend to a Halloween fancy dress party.
As she is so vain Hannah couldn't possibly dress up as anything gory, so she chose Marie Antoinette as her character for the night.
The skirt was hand made by the wearer, and the papers for the page are Graphic 45, along with a sprinkle of die cut bats.
She loos great here at the start of the night, but was not so well later, despite me warning her to stay sober as she was moving house the next morning. Her hangover was a far better punishment than anything I could say!

Pumpkin Patch
As we near the end of the autumn I thought I would post a couple of seasonal pages.
These photos were taken in Derby market just before Halloween where they had displayed a colourful group of pumpkins, a perfect backdrop for this photo of Hannah and Harry.
The layout was inspired by a UKS challenge, with a sketch, and the requirement to use Halloween colours. I do have a few Halloween dies and embossing folders, but don't get chance to use them often.
This one is a Tim Holtz from a couple of years ago, I embossed onto some really old K&Co purple paper, sanded it and cut out the bits I liked.
The circles were die cut from a Cuttlebug folder and sanded, and I added a die cut title and bats. Although as the children are older now we rarely celebrate Halloween, I was happy to snap these photos for their albums.

Cyber crop pages.
As the UKS cyber crop draws to an an end today, along with half term, expect to see a good few layouts over the next week or so made this week, and inspired by UKS members.
This one is the last I made, following a class by helsbels here. The original class was A4 in size, but I converted it to 12x12 for a couple of Halloween photos taken of Harry during the week. As the scouts had a fancy dress night, he went dressed as James Bond, I just can't get over the fact that at 14 his Dad's dinner jacket fit him... it's a bit big over the shoulders, but it didn't look enormous.
I loved the class, and along with many others on UKS this week there were so many new ideas to try out. I will definitely use the stitched shape filled with confetti again!
I used lots of old stash during the week, including this Teen Angst set of papers by WRMK, perfect for a teenage boy's page. As I didn't have a star punch, my old Sizzix paddle punches came to the rescue, I'd almost forgotten I had them, but they are great for making negative space.
Back to work tomorrow... only 8 weeks till Christmas.

Halloween Page
This was a LO for a challenge on UKS, to use a new technique, and this sketch designed by a UKS member Mary Buttons.
Not having 3 small photos I used 2 recent ones taken of Katie at Halloween.
The panel on the left has been embossed using Tim Holtz folders, and then sanded to reveal a purple core. My new technique was to punch all over the page using a new Martha Stewart punch. I liked the effect but it was hard going to punch all of a 12x12 piece of card!
The title was made using a Papermania die and foam, along with a Sizzix embosslits die and some more sanding.

I have made a good few Halloween pages over the years.....

as we have 2 family birthdays at the end of October, but the fact that this time it included a funny story made Katie's page so much easier to scrapbook.

UKS Team Crop
Every month on UK Scrappers my team mates and I get involved in a mini cyber challenge to try and increase our scrapping. In October we were given a sketch by Jo (taken from Shimelle's blog, always a wealth of inspiration there!)

....and although I was late making the LO, I'm even later posting it here!!!

I used photos detailed here, to make an autumnal page about Harry. I turned the LO 90 degrees to suit my portrait photos, and added a bit of blanket stitch.
A lovely crafty weekend is ahead, 2 crops!!!

A Spooky Page
I was inspired to make a Halloween themed LO by the weekly challenge on UKS this week. As the challenge ends today, I'm just in time!!!
The photo is one taken in the mines in Matlock earlier this week, and as the journallin
g details the guide did warn us about very large cave spiders (which were fortunately not to be seen) and bats!

s and journalling. I made the background card using a Tim Holtz spider web mask, grey, orange and purple inks and a spritz over the top of Cosmic Shimmer mist in gold.
The title is cut with a Sizzix eclipse and stamped, as are the leaves, bats and spiders. I added a bit of distressing and black stitching for good measure and it was done. I haven't made a LO under my own steam, (ie not a class) for a while, so am pleased to have got going again.... just in time for school tomorrow :(

The Weekend is here
and i made 2 pages last night!!!

So here is my version of the page. Instead of the apple, i chose a pumpkin shape for the mat behind the photo, and i straightened my LO up a little.

The pumpkin shape was drawn by hand and cut out using Basic Grey Archaic papers, and the journalling added by hand. the pumpkin stamp (so useful, from Unity) was added to the bottom corner, along with a piece of Imaginisce paper folded to look like ribbon.

For the first time in ages i had a go at the monthly challenge on the DoCrafts site, which was to use an ad or poster to inspire a LO.
I thought about stylish adverts, and Apple came to mind, so after Googling this i found this fab 1970s poster, which i thought would make a perfect sketch for a scrapbook page.
So here is my version of the page. Instead of the apple, i chose a pumpkin shape for the mat behind the photo, and i straightened my LO up a little.
The photos are of Katie carving the pumpkin last weekend, ready for Halloween.
I used Tim Holtz Alphabet masks for the title, Stampin' Up inks (Pumpkin!) and Shimmer mists in copper . The rest of the title was die cut using the Sizzix Rat a Tat font.

Another scarey page
The challenge this week on SLYMI over on UKS was to scrap something you are scared of, readers of this post will recall my fear of the 8 legged creatures. In fact, as a bit of aversion therapy, I've kept the LO blu-tacked up in the kitchen for longer than usual so i can get used to seeing this hideous beast!

Imaginisce papers, Core'dinations cardstock, embossed with a H
alloween cuttlebug folder and sanded, journalling paper punched with a Stampin' Up punch, inked and distressed. I also made good use of my loop punches, and after a bit of practice found them easy to use. For a change, I used the computer to generate the title, i found the font on Dafont (called 'Awaken'), installed it and printed it in Word on Acetate. I didn't have a stamp set or a die that would produce this spooky type title, so i had to print it.....can't help thinking i might have cheated a bit!

She has wanted this coat since seeing it in Matalan early in the Autumn, and as we are so short of cash i couldn't justify the cost of it. So she saved her allowance (for the first time ever) and bought it herself. Won't do her any harm i think :)
Firts day on supply tomorrow... wish me luck!
Finally, the multi talented Caroline here is posting a months worth of projects on her blog this November, starting today, take a look to see what she's been up to today!

A Halloween DLO
Hannah went to a Halloween party last week organised by her sixth form, and took loads of photos. It was a fancy dress party, so lots of silly costumes to be seen. I had to make a double Lo for a change, as there were so many pictures, even then i didn't have enough room and had to include an extra piece of card behind the papers for more photos. I'm sure that when she looks back at this LO she will be pleased with it, i went to many parties as a student, but have almost no record of any of them, or my fellow students. The papers used were lovely Imaginisce from Stampeezee, i liked the spider web paper so much i had to go back and buy another piece for this weeks SLYMI LO.

On the left hand page i used bat die cuts (Sizzlits) and a stamped pumpkin (Unity), i had seen this journalling on a page ages ago, and when Hannah started to talk about the cost of the evening, it seemed to fit perfectly. The corrugated card journalling block is by Prima, torn and distressed with black and orange inks. The title is another Sizzix die, and embossed set called Lyndsey's diary.
On the right hand page I used Black Core'dinations cardstock, and cut the pumpkin face paper using a template. the photos and template were stitched to the page, and journalling added with a Souffle pen in orange. The photos were cut using square Nestabilities, and more die cut bats and stamped pumpkins.Extra photos were tucked behind the pumpkin paper. After finishing the LO I remembered why i almost never make a DLO, they take so long to make!!!
Another Halloween page tomorrow... arachnophobes beware!
